Well this is some badass shit. Advent of Bedlam are not actually a new band, as they have existed since about 2000 under their old name December's Cold Winter, who released their album Ablaze All Shrines back in 2008 before switching names. (I think that album's title would have made a better band name, but I digress) I see this band labeled as "Melodic" Death Metal quite a bit, but that is inexplicable to me. There is not really any trace of Gothenburg to this, and Behold the Chaos is an aggressive blast of South American Death Metal.

Influences are easy to spot, with elements taken from old Morbid Angel, Vital Remains, and Kataklysm, with a dash of the crunch of Swedish-styled Death mixed in. Cook it up and voila! Let the killing begin. This is almost an hour of punishing, crushing Death Metal in the proud tradition of the South American underground. The production is big and heavy as fuck, the riffs are sometimes excellent, and the songs contain enough time changes and blasts to keep even fans of more technical metal happy, though this is far from tech death. Vocalist Roy Zumbado is obviously going for a Glen Benton kind of sound, and his lower range is a satisfying roar, only his high-pitched shrieks coming off as kind of irritating. Still, the nonstop barrage of Death Metal slaughtering going on here is not to be sneezed at.
