This is obviously a first effort by a very young band (from the pics these guys look like teenagers). The recording job is rough but surprisingly solid, the riffs show real promise, and the vocals are pretty bad. It's had to pin down a genre for this, as it shares a lot of traits of both Melodeath and Folk Metal, sounding not a million miles removed from Falchion's old stuff. These kids have a good ear for melody, and the guitar playing in particular is tasty and well-done. The vocals are a monotone rasp that get the job done but become extremely annoying after a few songs, as they never contain any variance of pitch or emotion. The closing track is an acoustic/instrumental number that is particularly well-composed, sounding like something Suidakra might produce. This is a listenable demo, and shows a band with definite promise.
