Sigma Draconis is a Black Metal quartet from Italy. Judging by the cover art, one can feel this has something to do with war and bloody subjects. Indeed, on this CD you will hear some war samplings here and there. Lead guitar player, Necurat even wears proudly the Nazi cross (symbol) on his coat.

After the military drumming intro, this album kicks off with the vicious/hateful Black Metal venom, accompanied by the as hateful rasps. I was immediately annoyed by the upfront drumming, especially with the snare drum sound. Fortunately, this is not a major problem, and it is corrected somewhere along the road. Vae Victis "It Will End in Blood" is not really a bad album; it is just on the generic side. Most of this release pulsates at the hyper-blasting tempo and includes the ingredients usually found in Black Metal. The lead guitar work is pretty good and the drummer, Janicot, is capable of variation. I was not able to find any great tracks to mention until I heard the very last composition, "Outro, Deliverance From Human Being". That song is symphonic and has a victorious feel, without anything like buzzing guitars or rasps.

So, Vae Victis "It Will End in Blood" is not great or outstanding, neither is it bad, just somewhat generic for a Black Metal album, with a bit of military references included.
