Terroreign (Apocalyptic Armageddon Command)
I got this band's Dominator EP last year and was fairly impressed with it, despite how scanty it was, this is their sixth full-length album in a career I have until now totally missed. I am generally skeptical of bands from Asia, but I have to admit that Terroreign is a kickass slice of Blackened Thrash.
Impiety have a Death/Thrash kind of basis for their sound, with chaotic guitars a la Angelcorpse and hyperfast drumming that avoids the clickety sound of modern DM quite nicely. Vocals are a thrashy rasp familiar to all fans of Deströyer 666 or old Onslaught albums, and the bulletbelted war-against-god vibe is pure Black Metal. Once again this is rather slight, with a 35 minute album that includes an intro, outro, and a cover song, so you only get 29 minutes of original music here. The good thing is that those are 29 solid minutes of vicious, goat-raping destruction that takes no prisoners and follows no trends, not to mention flashing some solid musicianship along the way. Fans of pure chaotic aggression like Belphegor or Enthroned will eat this right the fuck up. This album is in no way original, but it crackles with savage energy and merciless wrath. Recommended.
