Secret Sphere is another Italian metal band that has appeared recently, it definitely looks like Italy has awakened to metal, and, more importantly, the bands are very talented, and Secret Sphere is no exception.  This debut album is kind of hard to categorize... My first thought was melodic speed metal, but listening closely to it, I could detect some Rhapsody influence in some songs.  Like a lot of bands from recent years, Secret Sphere doesn't seem to fit in a specific category... doesn't matter, they sound great.  You'll find the usual speedy songs songs with a ballad here and there to cool things off :).

The booklet contains a little introductory text before the lyrics of each song, which, by the way, are all in the epic/fantasy style, not surprising considering the title and cover art :).

The result is quite enjoyable, although some songs sound a bit like déjà vu, which is about the only negative comment I have for this album.  I quickly forgot that since their talent easily overcomes the occasional lack of originality.  An interesting discovery.  Can't wait for their next album.
