Overkill still delivers. I like this new album better than 1999's Necroshine, although they still found a way to introduce some vocal parts that get on my nerves. Unlike a lot of people, I have no problem with the vocalist, but in some parts Overkill have a tendency to put some weird sounding vocals that almost ruin a song for me. I'll get over it I guess...
Bloodletting doesn't break any new ground, you get pretty much what you'd expect from Overkill: well-executed Thrash Metal, no compromise, no downer. The album includes a couple of ballads that are surprisingly good - not all Thrash bands can pull those off. A very good album to listen to that current Overkill fans should enjoy, but which probably won't win them more in the crowd that didn't like their previous efforts.
