Well, this album tries really hard, going for a sound firmly imitative of the founding second-wave Black Metal bands. It's obvious how badly this band wants to be either Mayhem or Darkthrone from the Der Mysteriis or Funeral Moon era, but they just aren't that good. The sound is right, especially the chaotic guitar work and the croaking vocals, but the riffs are bland, the songwriting is sloppy, and as such the album rapidly becomes dull. Proof positive that even if you have the right idea, throwing a bunch of clichés in a blender will not create great art, or even necessarily entertainment. Grima Morstua are yet another BM band with an illegible logo whom no-one will remember.
