You've gotta love Sacred Steel. They may be a bunch of German assholes who don't give a fuck, but they keep cranking out the metal. I thought their last album was a bit weak, but Hammer Of Destruction gets them seriously back in the groove.

This may not be quiiite as heavy and dark as Slaughter Prophecy, but the riffs here are much better than on Iron Blessings, the guitar tone is meaner, and Mutz' vocals are still under control, so there is no obnoxious yammering to make you wince. There are a bunch of great tunes on here: The title track, the killer "Where Demons Dare To Tread", and the epic ass-stomper of "Black Church". This is still the same old Sacred Steel, but this is by far their most consistent album yet, and it will get your head flailing in no time.

Sacred Steel albums are kind of a no-brainer: if you like dark, angry Heavy Metal with no keyboards or other gay bullshit, then you should get everything this band puts out. Solid, dependable, and trusty as an old sword. As Conan's father said "This you can trust."
