What happened? That is all that comes to mind upon listening to this album. With a respectable back catalogue, an album such as "Grime vs. Grandeur" is only a step towards losing the fan base that this band has acquired from its previous releases.

All the notable technical qualities of the band converge on this album once again, albeit a little less emphasis on the folk aspect perhaps. However that is just enough for "saving" this album from being crucified. The entire album just goes by no matter how many listens I may give it. The riffs are extremely weak and without the distinct flavour of a Falconer riff, the music really is not worth listening to, as Falconer were never really known for their rhythm sections or even particularly about the vocals. The songs range from decent to mediocre and that just about sums it up. This is one quite weak effort from a band that will otherwise not disappoint.
