Well, considering this is a band formed by an ex-member of the awful Cannibal Corpse, Six Feet Under are not too bad. This is, incredibly, the eighth studio album for this band, who I have somehow managed to avoid until now.

I won't say this is a terrible CD, but it isn't great either. This is very simplistic, groove-oriented DM with some cool riffs, but the songs are very one-dimensional, with essentially the same riff repeated along with the same three or four lines of lyrics for the requisite three to four minutes until they decide it's long enough to count as a song. There's nothing about this that will actively annoy you, but precious little that will get your attention and get you excited either. So for those who find Gorgasm too intellectual for them, and wish their music could be Death Metal heavy, without all those distracting blastbeats and boring guitar solos, this should be an album to treasure. For those who don't want their metal with the intellect and attitude of Cypress Hill, there are so many better bands out there I won't even bother to discuss it. "13" is neither awful, nor especially appealing. Junk food for the metal palette.
