Graveland can do no wrong. Well at least according to me. :) "Raise your Sword!" is a 3-song EP that follows last year's "Creed of Iron" full-length album. This release pretty much follows the same musical path, what I can probably describe as a more "disciplined" music than in their earlier work such as "In the Glare of Burning Churches". "Raise your Sword!" has Graveland's signature sound which I can only describe as an almost contradictive majestic and anthemic, yet somewhat discreet sound. As a result this is yet another Graveland release with an atmosphere that gives some war-like depressive feeling, and the background chants add to this dark atmosphere. The CD contains two new songs and a Polish language version of Into Death's Arms.

This is essentially more of the same for this EP that seems to have been released to make fans patient for the next full-length. Slow to mid-paced songs, medium-pitched, almost agonizing vocals. I wish they would have evolved in their sound a little, but it seems like they decided to stick to a proven formula - not necessarily a bad thing, considering that some bands' evolution meant turning into crap. :)If you like what Graveland has released over the past couple of years, you will also like this. I know I do.
