Watch Out!

Fifth album of highly melodic, slightly quirky heavy metal from North Carolina's Mega Colossus and very much in line with their recent releases. Clear, strong vocals and twin guitars lead the way as the band explores various lyrical topics, from epic battles ("Here Lies You," "Battlefront"), arcane adventure ("The Halls of Mystikos"), science fiction ("Good Hunting") and pro wrestling ("Tag in Your Friend")! The riffs are great throughout Watch Out! with the vocals and rhythm section keeping pace as Mega Colossus race along, dragging the listener along with hooks everywhere you look. I am once again reminded of the vocal lines of Walpyrgus and the off-kilter lyrics of Slough Feg, along with the upfront production and kickass heavy metal of those bands. Watch Out! doesn't stray from the style of prior Mega Colossus releases but that just means if you enjoyed them, you're sure to enjoy this one.
