With the End Comes Silence

This German band has been around for well over 30 years and With the End Comes Silence is their sixth full-length album of progressive heavy metal. I reviewed their 2016 effort, Closing the Circle, and find this one similar in the quality of the playing (high), but the songwriting is denser and a touch less accessible this time around. I'd put With the End Comes Silence in the Dream Theater camp, whereas I found Closing the Circle in the Threshold vein. None of the songs jump out at you, but there are no dogs so if you like a good, conventional progressive metal album, give this one from Assignment a spin.
