Rogue Angels

More melodic, largely traditional heavy metal from Montreal's Starlight Ritual on this second full-length album. I'm hearing both hard rock and heavy metal influences from the first half of the '80s here, maybe even a bit of '70s heavy rock tidbits here and there. It's heavy on melody and often exhibits an epic vibe without going over the top. There's a lot going on here, and Starlight Ritual have made it all sound like all those influences belong together. I can't say it's the catchiest thing out there, as I don't really remember it once the album is over, but it does have enough appeal to give you the urge to go back to it if you spot it while looking for the next album to play.
