I inadvertently skipped Black Coven in 2022, but at least this new album didn't slip through the cracks. More haunting, powerful black metal from these Greeks and, reading my review of Arcadian Witchcraft, this is roughly in the same vein. This is one of those bands that knows how to use keyboards effectively in black metal; they don't distract, and they create one hell of an atmosphere. At times it's downright chilling, always haunting in kind of a biblical way and, of course, there's that ominous medieval vibe kicking in all in the right places. There are some slower, more atmospheric tracks, but even the fast, blasting ones have that demonic atmosphere that just won't let you off the hook. The vocals are just as haunting, and overall the music on the album will haunt your sleep and give you the chills. I could have saved myself some typing and just said that the album sounds like its artwork. ;)
