Celestial Lands

This is a relatively new band from the UK, producing their second album of melodic, somewhat epic-sounding Black Metal. I hear some similarities to other, more ambitious bands like Astriaal or Sacramentum, with the tremolo riffs serving as a backdrop for strongly melodic riffs and leads. There's also some of the Cascadian sound in this, with long songs and a layered approach. The production is good, even if it is a bit soft, needing a little more bite to give it character. For Black Metal, this is pretty clean and smooth, and if you like the more melodic end of the Black Metal pool, then you will like this, but it doesn't really have a lot of individuality.
