Insect Politics

Fast, brutal, razor-sharp blackened death metal is what Misanthropic Aggression have in store for us on Insect Politics. Sounds generic enough just like that, but where things get more interesting is the crust leaning as well as a bunch of winks to '80s heavy metal (whether intentional or not, I do not know). That kind of drove me nuts as I kept trying to remember where I heard such and such short passage before. There's also a bit of a black 'n' roll vibe at times, not without reminding me of punk-influenced metal like early Motörhead. So there's a lot going on here, all nicely wrapped in that fast, fine-tuned black/death packaging. A fun album that will make your neck hurt.
