Absolute Elsewhere
Five years since this band broke out with Hidden History of the Human Race and, well, gosh; kind of a lot has happened since then. This has always been a weird, experimental band, mixing in a lot of progressive interludes, weird instrumental breaks, and a loose, sprawling approach to songwriting. The base of the band's sound has always been tight, technical Death Metal, but here the proportion has shifted far more in favor of the loopy, melodic elements. If you are exclusively here for aggressive stuff like Origin or Decrepit Birth, then this album is not going to really do it for you, but if you like a more adventurous sound akin to bands like Mithras or The Chasm, then this is a really iconoclastic and unique recording.
