I've said it before in reviews and I'll say it again; Germany's Stormhunter sounds a lot like Stormwarrior with maybe some Wizard thrown in. Best Before: Death is their fourth full-length album and it has the speed, gruff shouts, chanted choruses, melodic solos, etc. that have defined crunchy, German power metal for nearly 25 years. It is a competently written and played album, touching the things it is supposed to from the speedy "Reaper" to the anthemic "Berceau de l'enfer" to the obligatory ballad "Fallen Angel," the latter which is strangely one of my least favorite songs on the album but also the most memorable. Maybe that's because the rest of the album is so generic. I wouldn't tell anyone not to pick up a copy of Best Before: Death but I'd be hard pressed to give you a reason why you would want to.
