Eastern Tales

I sometimes wonder what Summoning think of their increasingly numerous disciples. I liked Belore's debut back in 2020, but I found it kind of middling, without any really strong ideas or songs. This one has more focused songwriting and makes attempts to utilize sounds that are not simply derivative of Dol Guldur. Some chanted vocals and some Irish flute provide a break from the tremolo riffs and synth backgrounds. If there's something missing here, it is that elusive element of atmosphere. The music here is well done, with some good melodies, but it does not create strong feelings or cling after it is over.
