Obsidian Refractions

Second album (after a long break) for this band made up of veteran players from both sides of the Atlantic. Maybe the international pedigree helps keep this from sounding regional, as this is a band that combines some USDM density with a more Euro sense of melody and style, recalling stuff like Demigod or Disma. Overall, this is a satisfyingly heavy and crunchy album with just a touch more musical flair and ambition than the usual, which makes it stand out just a bit.
