Vektor seemingly set off a kind of earthquake in the underground with their seminal Black Future, which combined Voivod sci-fi themes with tight, technical Thrash riffs reminiscent of Coroner or Obliveon, and now there is a whole sub-subgenre of bands also marrying musical technicality with dark sci-fi lyrics and imagery. I say this to let you know where Venus are coming from. This is definitely a Thrash album, bursting with clean, sharp riffing that reminds me more than a little of Paradox. I like the music here, but Venus suffer a bit in the vocal department. They use clean-ish vocals quite a lot, and those are okay, if a little featureless, while the harsh vocals are a gargly rasp that is pretty bad. Sometimes they even combine them, and oh man it sounds so bad when they do that. I can tell this band has chops, and I like the whole vibe and aesthetic of the album, but the vocals need some work.
