Penitence

Raw, wall-to-wall blasting hyperspeed black metal is what Ritual Clearing offer us on Penitence. This is not subtle one bit: insane screeches that pierce the eardrums, speedy throughout except for few passages, heavy as fuck, a dark, malevolent atmosphere—basically a great rendition of '90s/early 2000s-style Scandinavian black metal, with some steroids added for increased speed and heaviness. Not particularly original (I say that a lot; it's a remark more than a criticism), but Ritual Clearing know their craft and the delivery is top-notch.
