Sielunmurskaaja was initially released in February of this year on a limited cassette run, but with Hammer of Hate Records releasing their latest full-length, I guess they decided it'd be a good idea to do a CD run of this EP, which is why I have it now. Musically, this is just a bite-sized portion of the kind of addictive, high-octane, slightly punky brand of black metal Sielunvihollinen do best, and the only real crime of this release is simply that there isn't more of it. Played with precision and conviction, produced professionally while still sounding underground as fuck, and overall coming at the listener with the hatred and violence we demand from black metal, this EP certainly serves as a nice companion to their latest album, and fans old and new alike would do well to get their hands on it.
