Rebaelliun formed in 1998 and this is their fourth album. It may not seem like much, but considering they were split-up between 2002 and 2015, that's not too bad a count. Under the Sign of Rebellion sounds like it was written and recorded by a pissed-off bunch and, considering that the work mostly took place during the pandemic, that's not surprising, and the result is pretty damn good. This makes me think of a mix of Vader and Krisiun with a hint of Immolation. Heavy and cavernous and mostly fast-paced, there's enough here to break your neck and get wrist pain for all the air guitar (love that ear-slicing guitar sound). I'm not familiar with the band's past material, but Under the Sign of Rebellion is one fine slab of razor-sharp, angry death metal.
