Been a while since I listened to Norilsk. I don't know if a new album is in the works, but for now this 2-song EP will have to do. It's very slow and melancholic doom/death, really not uplifting music, but if you're in the mood to get crushed by a tank battalion, these two songs will fit the bill very nicely. It's really heavy stuff that reminds me of Mourning Beloveth when I first listened to doom some 20 years ago. It's beautiful music, very melodic, but damn it's a downer—which is kind of the idea behind doom metal to some extent. It's very much in the vein of what Norilsk have been doing and it doesn't colour outside the lines, but it's well done.
