Ghost Town is the ninth studio album from Narnia and finds them firmly in the groove of doing what they do best, and that is playing dark, proggy power metal. The guitars have a fat sound, thanks to some down tuning, and the vocalist has a gritty, powerful shout that work well together. The keyboards are not overemphasized, limiting the "happy" tendencies though "Glory Daze" is one of the more upbeat numbers and a good example of the neoclassical take with a nice solo. Other than that, Ghost Town is not very different from Narnia's last album (2019's From Darkness Into Light) other than maybe possessing less catchy and memorable songwriting overall. And like that last album, Ghost Town will likely appeal to fans of Threshold and Symphony X and, while it is played well and sounds good, it is a notch or three below the standards those bands have set.
