It's been a while since I covered some Witchmaster. The band is still all about raging black/thrash and them getting older hasn't slowed them down in any way. This is so pedal-to-the-metal that some songs rival the speed of some of the blasting second-wave black metal bands out of Scandinavia. While those songs are sure to scrape the paint off the walls, they lack some of the cool, catchy riffage found on other songs, but at least that makes for a little variety. It's the slower, riff-heavy songs that have more lasting power, some of them calling for some air-guitaring even once the album is over. Ultimately you won't find anything you haven't heard elsewhere if you've listened to black/thrash before, but Witchmaster know how to do it well.
