Going back in time a little here, as I reviewed Chapitre II a while back. A Call to Arms is largely in the same vein, with an Agent Steel-style speed/thrash that destroys everything in its path and wipes the floor with every poser unfortunate enough to be in the way. It's kind of dark, yet at the same time somewhat upbeat and rather catchy, and there's more speed than you can shake a stick at. I find the vocals are not quite as accomplished as they were on Chapitre II, often a little cringeworthy or at the very least an acquired taste, very screechy here and there and kind of off. It's amazing to hear how much improvement was to come later. Still a fun EP that's kind of addictive when you feel up for some heavy, thrashing speed metal.
