This is a nice little slab of raw and savage black/death that lives up to the band's name. Overall, this is quite similar to so-called war metal, though not quite as chaotic as Savage Necromancy run a pretty tight ship here. There's kind of a mid-80s Slayer-on-steroids vibe at times and when things get slower it's a dark, creepy and haunting feeling of impending doom that takes over. There are a few effects here and there that really add to the atmosphere when needed, but for the most part this is crunchy guitars, pounding drums and low, menacing growling vocals courtesy of a female vocalist - and I only know that detail because I looked it up. Apparently, there's a second album in the works and hopefully it'll be as killer as this.
