I was expecting some good old '80s heavy metal with this one, Nothing Sacred having formed in 1983 and released a first album in 1988, but No God has turned out to be on the mellower end of the genre, flirting a lot with hard rock and '70s rock, not unlike what you'd hear on early NWOBHM albums. I found it kind of boring on the few couple of listens, but it got better the more I listened to it and just taking it for what it is rather than what I expected from it. That said, there's nothing here that hasn't been done before (OK, that's fairly typical nowadays), but this is the kind of sound that you expect from an old album you listen to out of nostalgia, not really on a new album. No God isn't bad and fits the bill if you want something melodic and not too distracting nor exciting, but once it's over there isn't much left to remember.
