Of Great Eternity
This is a reissue of the long out of print third album by Judas Iscariot. As far I as I can tell, this is not remastered and the original artwork has been preserved, so it's all about making the album available again.
I really like this one. It has the signature Judas Iscariot sound and, of course, sounds like mid to late-90s black metal. Akhenaten's distinctive croaky vocals are omnipresent and a large part of the Judas Iscariot sound, a mix of aggressive, hateful and kind of depressive vocals all in one. That's a great fit for the music which has this nearly constant backdrop of a repetitive, kind of rocking sound that just chugs along, guaranteed to get the head bobbing and the foot tapping. The guitar sound is another element I've always liked on Judas Iscariot releases, a very raw, sharp, buzzing sound that just screeches through the ears. Engulf all of the above in a dark, sinister, cold and borderline depressive atmosphere and you get Of Great Eternity.
