This is a short and sweet EP of second-wave Swedish symphonic black metal that takes you straight back to the mid-90s. It has that sorrowful, depressing yet soothing atmosphere brought by keyboards that was pretty much the name of the game for many of those bands back then. The vocals take a step back and barely hover above the whole thing, making the atmosphere even more effective. The guitars and drums are kind of monotonous but that is exactly what the songs call for here, and everything just gels together. This reminds me of Limbonic Art, among others. Nice to see a band still playing the genre and doing it right.
