This DVD is an extended version of the Megadeth Behind The Music documentary that was shown on VH-1. Although I didn't see the original version, I was told that they skipped the "Cryptic Writings" and "Risk" era on the TV version. The DVD covers all the albums up to "The World Needs a Hero". The documentary covers the pre-Megadeth day, back when Dave Mustaine was a kid and how he got into music, eventually leading to being a member of Metallica in their early days - unfortunately that also means we have to listen to James and Lars a few times. The vast majority of the material here is made of interviews with members and former members of Megadeth, as well as people who were close to the band or to Dave himself. Lots of focus on the drug problems, not too surprising considering the impact these problems have had on the band's career. I got the feeling the persons being interviewed were not holding too much back and there were things said that I was surprised to hear. There is also quite a bit of talk as to how each album came into being, and why they turned out to sound they way they do - including some admissions about "Cryptic Writings" and "Risk". ;)

There is some old concert footage (with Metallica and Megadeth), I wish the DVD had added more of that, but included is the entire "Moto Psycho" video (Ok, it sucks and the chicks don't belong in there, but most of them are hot so just watch it for the eye candy ;)), a photo gallery, some statistics and bonus footage and interviews. People who have read everything about the band may not learn much from this DVD, but others are likely to find something of interest here.
