Nestled between Haunt's first and second full-length albums is the Mosaic Vision EP (re-released by Shadow Kingdom after If Icarus Could Fly), a release that seems a bit pointless to me. I love Haunt's sound, especially the guitar tone, which is thick and crunchy, but the songs on this effort are generic with boiler plate riffs and forgettable choruses. I certainly don't hate it and feel like a heel complaining about new music from a band I like but I can't find much reason to go back to Mosaic Vision once it ends. If you dig Haunt, and you should, you'll probably want to own this but don't be surprised when you reach for Burst into Flames or If Icarus Could Fly before this one.
