There's a lot going on in the short 23 minutes of this demo. You can always rely on Chile to produce good thrash and death metal bands and Deathwards are no exception. These guys' influences are all over the place, with bits and pieces reminding me of Hellhammer, mid-to-late-80s Megadeth and Slayer and even a bit of the German school of the same period, all mixed together with the speed and savagery you expect from good, modern death/thrash metal. The songs are rich and diverse and make the whole thing an interesting listen, revealing more layers with every spin. That's one hell of a debut demo for a band and my expectations are set high.
