Cult of Sedna is the fourth album from Gloryful, the band with a name that makes you think the music will be a lot more power metal than it is. Yeah, Gloryful have a lot of melody in their songwriting but the guitars are rougher and the vocals gruffer. You still get plenty of sustained major chords and dual-guitar lead work, but the verses are more "in-your-face" than you get from an Edguy or a Mob Rules. Gloryful remind me more of bands like Paragon and Rebellion with songs like "Void of Tomorrow" and "Brothers in Arms" though the songwriting is not at the same level. Cult of Sedna is loud and proud but not as memorable as it could have been. Gloryful is a band that has been in the vicinity of something special but has yet to hit the mark.
