Catalan fivesome Furi Helium started out like many other bands: playing cover songs from other bands (AC/DC, Iron Maiden, Hammerfall, etc.) before starting to write their own songs. These lads chose Thrash Metal as their genre, which certainly works better for me than playing Hammerfall covers day after day. On the band's four-song EP, Releasing Hell, the main fuel is bands like Municipal Waste, early Exodus, early Slayer, Tankard, Crisix, etc. In other words, Crossover-tinged, harsh and to-the-point type of Thrash. The first track off the EP, "Toxic Warm", is meant to show your position in the house right off the bat. The next song, "Stampede of Buffaloes" calms things down a little bit, starting off with an acoustic guitar but turning into a beer-drinking fest type of a song real soon. The song certainly puts a smile back on your face again. "A Way to Iruña" brings things back to a harsher mode again, giving the listener a reason or two to recheck his/her place in the house again. The last song off the EP, "Time to Fight!" is a pretty fast-paced and surprisingly catchy track, oozing a fair amount of Crossover elements, ending this short release with pride.

The guys do have some potential to become a worthy act.
