I reviewed Sordide's latest album, Ainsi finit le jour, a few months ago and then realized that this 2019 promo had slipped through the cracks (unfortunately, it's not an isolated case). This is another slab of raw black metal with pissed off vocals. Overall pretty fast paced, there's a little chaos in here but it's not insanely fast; I'd still recommend going easy headbanging to this, for your neck's sake. There's a mix of that late-to-mid-90s and early 2000s signature French black metal sound, the former for the rawest passages and the vocals—the style and the French-language singing—and the latter for a hint of melody that makes things a little more digestible and makes the songs easier to tell apart rather than just sounding like one long song. Slightly polished raw black metal, if you will. Good stuff all around.
